Since the creation of man there has not been one who has caused such an uproar as Jesus. Not only did he change the hearts and minds of countless individuals in his time, but even now continues to do so. Just the mention of the name Jesus sparks either joy and jubilation or hate and humiliation in whatever context it is used. Even among the atheist, or the agnostic the name of Jesus incites ambivalence and/or conflict simply because of what that name represents to the world. Without a doubt no other name in the history of humanity has been able to spark such joy or else contention as the name of Jesus. Why has that name throughout the ages fostered so much controversy?
Jesus was more than just a man. He was more than just a prophet. Jesus was more than just the son of a carpenter, the first born of Joseph and Mary. Jesus the man was in fact God incarnate. The things that can be know of God can only be gleaned from His inspired word. Now for those who accept the Bible as Gods infallible truth the mystery of the ancient of days is revealed in miraculous ways. But those who reject the truth of the gospel will forever find themselves baffled and conflicted by precepts that according to mans opinion, can only be speculative at best . This is the quandary that brings many to the point of indecision. This is the proverbial fork in the road that has challenged mans ego, and interlect throughout history. How can Jesus be God? Why would God choose to become a man only to die as a malefactor? Can we trust the bible as God’s word?
